- Universal Lighting Technologies Ballasts: Like everything we stand for at Landscape Lighting Supply,
we offer only the highest quality of ballasts on the market: Universal Ballasts. Yeah, there are cheaper
ones out there...but that’s not our style! We’re stickin’ to our guns. Why? Because Universal Ballasts are
vacuum-pressure impregnated, removing all air and filling all voids. This allows no air to get into the
windings and helps get the heat out of the ballast. Chinese ballasts are dipped in a coating at ambient
pressure, trapping air inside. The igniter pulse, at the start of each lamp firing, then breaks down the
dipped coating, causing moisture to enter the ballast and shorts out the windings. Air pockets in the ballast
can create internal coronas, an internal high energy field, which breaks down the dipped coating and thus
reduces the ballast life.
- New "Moon Pulse Lamps" from EYE Lighting: We initiated the development of a new mercury vapor
lamp with our friends at EYE Lighting that runs off a metal halide ballast, yet still provides the beautiful blue-
green moonlight and highly coveted 24,000 hour lamp life.
